In the wooded area of the Warande, where you are here, there is said to have been a chapel of Saint Anthony in the seventeenth century. Around 1860, the chapel of Our Lady of Scherpenheuvel that you can find here was built on this site by order of Count Charles de Merode-Westerloo. Destroyed by vandalism on several occasions, the chapel was restored in 1987.Inventory of Immovable Heritage: Kasteeldomein de Merode and surroundings, id.erfgoed.net/erfgoedobjecten/135116
