The Maginot Line was a defensive system consisting of a line of bunkers along France's border with Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Italy. The system is named after the French Defense Minister André Maginot. It was built from 1930 to 1940 to prevent or repel attacks from these neighboring countries.
