Hiking

Dülmen Castle was a castle in the city of Dülmen from the 1830s to 1945. It served as a residence and domicile for the Duke of Croÿ. After destruction in the Second World War and further demolitions, only parts of the palace garden are still preserved today.

Even without a castle, the small castle park with its beautiful trees, plants, flowers and ponds is always worth a visit.

Only the coach house and parts of the terrace remained. They were demolished in 2006 when a supermarket and a car park were built. Haus Merfeld had been part of the ducal property since 1836, and the residence was moved there in 1945, as had Schweckhausen Castle from 1847 to 2015.
