    Monk and nun
"On the south-western slope of the old castle hill Metilstein, which today is called Mädelstein, two rocks standing close together tower high and isolated, these are called monk and nun. A young monk lived in a monastery in Eisenach, and a nun in another, for example the monk was a Carthusian and the nun in St. Katharina, they loved each other, although no one knows how to say where they first saw each other and how an understanding developed between them. But one evening, according to an agreement, both escaped secretly their monasteries, whether only for a short rendezvous or for ever, that is again not reported by the saga. Perhaps they did not have the will to return to the monasteries and have not done so, rather they found themselves behind in a lonely place the Metilstein and stood there for a long time together in one place and kissed each other, and still stand there, because they were in high S transformed into stone rocks, which, seen from a distance, still resemble two huge human figures who lean towards each other to kiss. The rock figures can be found below the circular path no. 3 "Panoramaweg". A steep, narrow path leads down into the valley towards the Waldschlösschen restaurant.
