The Powder Church (French: Église protestante – La Pulverkirch) in Lauterbourg is a historic building, originally constructed in 1708 as a powder magazine for the former fortress. Its massive walls still bear witness to this military origin. In 1887, the Protestant community acquired the building and converted it into a church. The church was consecrated in 1888 and later, in 1952, extensively restored.
