The western nave was given to the Reformed Church (today's Protestant Church), the eastern part (Catholic Church) has hardly been used for church purposes since the new Edith Stein Church (Friedelsheimer Straße) was built.

The St. Georg Church is historically the most important and valuable building of the city Wachenheim. It was built in the 14th century and was used for a long time by Catholics and Protestants as a simultaneous church. The interior of the Protestant church received in 1860/61 a three-sided encircling gallery, a wooden ceiling and richly carved wood fittings. On the back gallery is a built-in Voit - organ. The interior and the three galleries can accommodate about 550 visitors.
