"The Church of St. George in the historic center of Wachenheim an der Weinstraße is the town's landmark, along with the ruins of the Wachtenburg. Since the beginning of the 18th century, the church has been used jointly by Catholics and Protestants as a simultaneous church.
The existence of a parish in Wachenheim is believed to have been around since the 9th century. The first documented mention of the church dates from 911. The church is mentioned in the "Weissenburger Klosterraub" and was temporarily owned by the monasteries of Lorsch, Kaiserslautern and Limburg."

A beautiful and imposing church. Another landmark after the Wachtenburg.
