The bridge was built between 1919 and 1923, destroyed at the end of World War II and rebuilt from 1954 and opened in September 1956. Hiking
The Caprivi Bridge connects Sömmeringstrasse with Wintersteinstrasse over the Spree and also spans the riverside paths on both sides of the river. It was built between 1919 and 1923 as a steel arch bridge, but was destroyed in 1945. In mid-1954, construction began on an elegant prestressed concrete bridge with a span of 62 m and a load-bearing capacity of 60 t, which was opened to traffic in September 1956. The construction costs amounted to around 1 million DM.
