Place de l'Homme-de-Fer
With the introduction of the tram and the establishment of pedestrian zones in the city center in the early 1990s, the Place de l'Homme de Fer was redesigned and developed into the core area of local passenger transport.
The architect Guy Clapot created a glass rotunda that characterizes this center and harmonizes with the futuristic tram design.

The square owes its current name to the armed soldier that an "armourer" had placed on its façade in the 18th century at a height of four metres, on the corner of a house that is now number 2 on the square and houses a pharmacy. The original, which was replaced by a tinplate copy in the 1970s, is now on display in the Strasbourg History Museum.

All trams from all directions come together on this square. Easy to switch quickly. Especially with the free day ticket obtained at the parking garage on the edge of the city. RECOMMENDED
