The Astronomical Clock, a Renaissance masterpiece, is the result of a collaboration between artists, mathematicians and technicians. Watchmakers from Switzerland, sculptors, painters and automaton manufacturers worked hand in hand here. The current clockwork dates from 1842.

The main attraction of the clock is its figure game, whose figure machines start moving every day at 12.30 p.m. At this hour you see the different stages of life - personified as a child, a young person, an adult and an old man - parade past death.
