"... The Castle Cemetery is a municipal cemetery in Bad Godesberg, a district of Bonn. It is a listed building. Part of the cemetery is the Jewish Cemetery Bad Godesberg.

The Burgfriedhof was laid out in 1804/05 on the site of the former Godesburg outer bailey below the Michaelskapelle next to a Jewish cemetery that had existed since the early 18th century. In 1895 the municipality of Godesberg acquired the castle hill. The cemetery was expanded several times in terraces down the slope, for the last time in 1910. In 1924, the new central cemetery of the city was built in the district of Plittersdorf to relieve it.

The cemetery contains many richly designed burial sites of the upper classes from the 19th and early 20th centuries, including five mausoleums, most of the Bonn cemeteries:148. One of the most important tombs is a tomb sculpture (Sermon on the Mount) created by the sculptor Benno Elkan for the pastor Karl Evertsbusch from 1909 Government master builder August Senz (1862-1912) under execution by the Bonn architect Wilhelm Weinreis (1872-1906) in oriental forms, which the city of Bad Godesberg acquired in 1952.

The cemetery also includes a war burial ground for 72 soldiers who died in World War I. ..."

The cemetery is a municipal cemetery and a listed monument. It contains many richly decorated graves. It was established in 1804/1805 on the site of the former outer bailey of the Godesburg Castle, adjacent to a Jewish cemetery that had existed since the early 18th century.

The important German philosopher Immanuel Kant (1724 to 1804) once said: “He who lives in the memory of his loved ones is not dead, he is merely gone; only he is dead is he who is forgotten.” Therefore, we can understand cemeteries, especially when the gravestones tell us the names and dates of life of the people buried there, as living places of remembrance.
