The water tower was built in 1877 by the Badische Staatsbahn on the site of the former repair shop. "The real benefit was that the locomotives and steam engines could be filled after the repair," says Sidem Verwaltungs GmbH.
Because of the historic performance technology, the tower is a listed building. In 2014 and 2015, the tower was renovated, the idea was born to make a hotel out of it. This should give the building an economic sense and connect the charm of yesteryear with that of today.

Today, this former water tower is a mini-hotel with a suite that you can rent (at EUR 299 per night, it's not exactly cheap; but it's unique :-)
