The Pfinz relief canal runs in the Upper Rhine plain between Karlsruhe-Grötzingen and Leopoldshafen. The 15.6 kilometer long canal drains floodwaters from the Pfinz to the Rhine. The canal was built as part of the Pfinz-Saalbach correction between 1934 and 1936. The construction work was mainly carried out by members of the Reich Labor Service.
