Today's building of the Rectorate of the University of Szczecin was designed in 1885 by the building officer Rönnebeck. The building was erected in 1886-1888. It was needed because of the overcrowding of the gymnasium at 14 Wielkopolska Street today. The building was the first to be erected on a recently marked street.
