The baroque port gate (formerly the Berlin gate) was built in 1724 with the modern fortifications of the Szczecin fortress. During the dismantling of the fortress in 1873, due to its historical and artistic value, it was not demolished, as was the royal gate.

Before 1945 it was also called the Berlin Gate. Like the King's Gate, it is a late Baroque gate that was built by Gerhard Cornelius von Walrave immediately after Stettin was taken over by Prussia in 1720 in place of a medieval gate in the city wall. During the Second World War, the Baroque figures and reliefs were dismantled and hidden in the Szczecin city forest - Eckerberger Wald - where they survived the destruction of Szczecin unscathed. They were only discovered in 1957, and the gate was subsequently reconstructed. In the gate there is currently a chamber theater.

The gate, redesigned in the 18th century, belonged to the Szczecin Fortress.
