In the years 1772 to 1774 it was built for the military on behalf of Prince Bishop Adam Friedrich von Seinsheim. The construction was carried out by Johann Joseph Vogel according to plans by the architect Johann Georg von Roppel. The military trophy and coat of arms reliefs were created by the sculptor Johann Bernhard Kamm (1736–1816).
