Rabov a former place destroyed after the war

A glassworks was built here in 1718. It became sheet glass, window lenses. Rosary beads and buttons are produced.
Until 1945 there were 16 houses in the hamlet of Rappauf. It was a district of the nearby Wenceslas village. After 1945 the place was razed to the ground. A few foundations of buildings can still be seen.

The Rappauf settlement was in the last third of the path between the vanished village of Wenzelsdorf and the point at which this path crosses the road from Walddorf to Plöß. In the area of the settlement there was a glassworks, which was first mentioned in 1718. This hut was called Plesser Hütte and mirror and window glass, beads and buttons were made here. In 1747 the glassworks was given up and probably never put into operation again, even though this area is marked as Alte Plesser Hütte on military maps from 1764-1768. In 1838 there were 5 wooden houses in the settlement. Before World War II Rappauf had 16 houses. After the war, the place, which was now in the military exclusion zone, was destroyed.
