This unique open space extends over 4.5 hectares on a hilltop.

However, the Ochsenheide is not an area for a picnic, nor is it a free-running area for dogs. The plants and animals living wild here, which are highly worthy of protection, have no other habitat and are therefore dependent on your understanding and consideration.

Even normal walking damages seedlings and seed development. Romping dogs and burrowing holes destroy plant and animal habitats of rare species. Dog excrement pollutes the meadow and the hay mixed with excrement can no longer be used as fodder. It is expensive to dispose of as waste. Wooden sticks from fetching also damage the mowers.

So contribute to the protection of the ox heath through your responsible behavior and observe the rules to preserve this sensitive habitat.
