Shortly before reaching the old town, there is a top vantage point on the corpse alley. Nicely located, with a wonderful view of the evangelical church and the Red House, among other things.

The neoclassical church stands at the confluence of the Rur and Laufenbach rivers on a small central square in Monschau. It was built between 1787 and 1789. It was commissioned by wealthy cloth manufacturers. The wide, rectangular hall was constructed in rubble stone, typical of the area, with bluestone jambs and a tower portal. High, round-arched windows divide the nave. The shallow choir has chamfered corners. The tower is half-built. It has an onion dome with a lantern and, instead of the usual rooster, ends with a swan, a rarity in the Rhineland. Three bronze bells from 1789 have been preserved in the tower. The interior of the church is decorated in the Louis Seize style, with stucco decorations with festoons, wreaths, and rods on the walls, ceiling, and pulpit altar. The organ and its two-story gallery were built in 1810.

Nice view over the old town and towards the castle.
