Baroque Gardens of Neuzelle Abbey

The monastery gardens were redesigned in 1760 in the "French taste" and are considered the only baroque park in Brandenburg whose basic structures were not redesigned in later times. The baroque paths and water systems, the steep terraces, the orangery and parts of the historical plant population have been preserved. In recent years, the "Stift Neuzelle" foundation has largely restored parts of the historic garden monument according to plans from 1758 and revived a testament to the art of gardening that is unique in Brandenburg. The Neuzell monastery gardens are among the most important gardens in Germany. They impress with their symmetries, lines of sight and a terrace area that allows a wide view over the baroque gardens and the wide, table-level Oder lowlands. D

The Neuzelle Abbey Foundation has largely restored parts of the historical garden monument in recent years according to plans from 1758 and impresses with symmetries, visual axes and a terrace system that allows a wide view of the baroque gardens and the Oder lowlands.

▪︎▪︎》 In 2008 the Neuzelle monastery garden was voted one of the 53 most important gardens in Germany by the German Tourist Board.
The center of the gardens is the orangery, in which the orange trees and other southern plants from the monastery garden overwinter from October to May and which is used in the summer months as a café, for events and for weddings. Visitors can be enchanted by the charm of the centuries-old monastery complex and experience a unique monastic garden culture. The view over the baroque garden and the Oder lowlands from the monastery is one of the most beautiful views in the state of Brandenburg.
