Probably the most beautiful way up to the castle is the "Eselsweg", a historical transport route for the water supply of the castle residents. Following it you can enjoy a wide view of the valley and Hainstadt right from the start. The Wertheim-Löwensteiner Hofgut "Wolferhof" is passed immediately afterwards. It was built in the 12th century. His sheep were used to keep the castle hill naturally free. The beautiful forest path then ends abruptly at a staircase and a giant slide. Once you have mastered the stairs, you are already standing in front of the castle.

Our tour went from Neustadt. Was a 12km circular walk to the castle.
