The Erlenmühle, like the Sleeping Beauty Castle, is one of the oldest fairytale houses in the Obrunn Gorge. The buildings were built by Peter Wölfelschneider. A fatal accident in 1968 put an end to his creative enthusiasm. He is considered one of the fathers of the romantic buildings. Since these buildings are sturdy and made of stone, they survived the destructive storm in 1968 and several subsequent ones almost unscathed.
