At the New Mill, a fish ladder was built: a ramp that also allows canoeists to pass the weir. The hare is now passable not only for large fish but also for low-swimming fish species. After you have crossed the bridge at the Hasenwehr, you go on stilts. Better to say: on a footpath on stilts along the hare. Until a few years ago, the hare was invisible there, led a wallflower existence in the back of the city. Now, the new route to the hare is much used, a new traffic axis for pedestrians and cyclists has emerged.
Incidentally, the new mill has a restaurant where you can fortify yourself.
