Osnabrück Central Station was opened in 1895 and is the only tower station in Lower Saxony that still exists. The tracks and platforms intersect on two levels, the station building is located in the southwest of the track system and opens up all platforms - sometimes via several stairs. In the wider area of the station, track loops connect the lines Hamburg - Bremen - Ruhr area (upper level) and Amsterdam - Hanover - Berlin (lower level). In addition, there are other regional routes from Osnabrück to Bielefeld, Oldenburg, Delmenhorst and Rheine.
