Fairy Tale Trail: The Chicken That Wanted to Go to Loccum

An information board and an elaborate carving tell the fairy tale "The chicken that wanted to go to Loccum". The regional fairy tale tells of the chicken that met several companions on its journey and was invited into its cave by the fox one evening. When everyone was asleep, the fox gradually attacked the companions. The smell of the crispy fried duck and goose finally woke the chicken. It lured the fox to the door with a trick, as many geese would soon be passing by. So it escaped to Loccum with the chicken to prevent the end of the world.

A chain fairy tale: the story of the chicken that dreams that the sky is falling on its head - and that therefore has to run to Loccum as quickly as possible. It also tells this to the animals that it meets, one after the other, on its way there. And they all share its fear - one after the other - and run with it. Until they meet the fox. And end up in its cave... now it becomes dangerous.
