The history of Tavigny Castle in Louis XVIII style dates back to the Middle Ages. Originally it was a simple defensive tower with sides of 10 meters wide. Over the years, a rampart, rounded towers and living quarters were added. In the 18th century it was transformed into a pleasure company. At the beginning of the 19th century it served as the headquarters for those responsible for the Meuse-Moesel Canal.
    Today it is privately owned.

Of the initial feudal castle, only a 10 meter tower remains, the walls of which are 2 meters thick. The date of construction of the tower is not known. In 1360 the castle belonged to the d'Ouren family, who were lords of Tavigny. The last lord, Charles-Auguste de Dobbelstein, without children, died at the castle on December 29, 1811. In 1816, the castle was sold to the Nicolays, tanners from Stavelot.
