The natural flood area is the last pike spawning area in Berlin. As the Havel water level has dropped, the accessibility of the meadows to the pike has deteriorated dramatically since 1990.

The conservation area of Tiefwerder Wiesen is not only a great destination to enjoy pure nature and idyll. It is also the habitat of numerous birds, above all the native greylag goose. In spring, the meadows are a popular breeding ground for chattering geese. With a bit of luck you can also spot trumpeting cranes here.
