Memorial stone placed in the Bernstein area and near the Grenzweg. A sad story is brought to life with the very informative plaque embedded in the stone. An airplane crashed below this point on November 1, 1945, shortly after the end of the war. 26 American military personnel lost their lives in the worst aircraft accident that ever occurred in our region (aktf-gaggenau.de).
