The Kamp is a lined by lime trees, about two acres of triangular, built around 1800 green area in the middle of Bad Doberan. The Kamp was the social center of the city in the 19th century, as the most representative buildings in the city were located around the park.

On the "Kamp" are the large white pavilion (restaurant and cafe) and the small red pavilion (today Gallery of Modern Art of the region). Both are in Chinese style.
