The old Oberwallney farm in Oberhesper with its pond used to run a mill at the same time. The extremely charming Hesperbachtal is characteristic of the many stream valleys that feed the Ruhr from south to north from the northern edge of the Niederbergisches Land through the last southern folds of the coal mountains. The stream still has the natural bank reinforcement of its mostly unevened bed by the roots of the soft woods, especially alder, willow and poplar, which accompany and enliven its course. "
