The Flidderberg Trail does not start near the summit and starts off relatively steeply via roots and stones ... but mainly consists of forest soil. You have a lot of speed right on it, which can be further increased with a bit of pedal work.
In between, there are also 1 or 2 uphills, but all in all, it's really fun! Recommended!

Personally, I prefer to drive the Flidderberg from east to west. It feels like I'm driving more downhill than uphill and from west to east you definitely go uphill for a long time ;-)

The trail is fun up and down. There are several more mountains in this area, Pferdekopf and Brunsberg. The nature reserve is simply wonderful and partly comparable to the heath. There are many cycle paths but there are also hikers and riders. So be careful and show mutual consideration. From here you can also take the old Sprötze railway line towards Kakensdorf, or you can go to the slightly larger town of Buchholz in the Nordheide.
