For me the ideal starting point of the Wall Trail through the city of Berlin. From here you can see that the monster is getting closer and closer to the houses. Now the wall is still far away from the inhabited area and in Harzerstraße it separates the row of houses. Horrible.

Hiking

The official Wall Trail does not actually run along this path; it runs about 100 m further north. This is the former column or guard trail, recognizable by the GDR-typical whip lamps that illuminated the entire border. The distance between the guard trail along the hinterland wall and the actual wall shows the enormous dimensions of the border installations, which were common outside of Berlin's urban area.
