My favorite place in Erlangen: the Burgberggarten with the figures of Heinrich Kirchner offers retreat and relaxation in the green but also a wonderful view of Erlangen and the surrounding area. There is a lot to discover - several paths meander over the (sometimes steep) slope, benches invite you to relax and the sculptures impress not only with their size, but also with their haunting symbolism.

It is not only worth it because of the sculptures, the view over Erlangen is also worthwhile.

In the north of the city the Erlanger Burgberg rises at 332 meters, on the southern slope of which the Heinrich Kirchner Sculpture Garden has been located since 1982 - unique as it is only dedicated to the work of a single artist. In the upper, park-like area, the older, less monumental figures are exhibited, the steeper, lower area is characterized by ten monumental sculptures from the last years of the artist's life. Kirchner's works deal directly or indirectly with the relationship between man and nature.
Extra tip: After a walk through the Heinrich Kirchner Garden, you can plan a great break in the basement with delicious beer and a snack!
