The name probably originated from a wolf enclosure, which should have been here from the 16th century. There are still the remains of a stone observation tower, which unfortunately was blown up in 1945 by the Wehrmacht.

The former lookout tower on the Wolf Hill from 1886 was initially a steel lookout scaffolding. In 1912 it was replaced by a 10 meter high, stone tower and destroyed in 1945.
