The suspension railway itself is an exemplary work of German engineering. As the oldest and, to this day, the only mountain suspension railway of its kind, it has defied time and survived the ups and downs of history. Only minor technical adjustments have been necessary over the years. The suspension railway has been a listed historical monument since 1975.
