The church of St. Laurentius is a Gothic brick building and is usually just called the town church by Havelbergers. It is a striking structure on the city island and, together with the St. Marien Cathedral, characterizes the cityscape of Havelberg from the south. In the 15th century, a two-story porch with a tower dwelling was built to the west of the tower. A votive tablet with a crucifixion relief is located next to the west portal, above which there is an atonement cross.
