Remy Van Lierde (Overboelare, 14 August 1915 – Lessen, 8 June 1990) was a colonel in the Belgian Air Force. He fought in the aerial battles of the Battle of Britain during World War II.
His career as a fighter pilot started in 1935. During the Eighteen Days Campaign (1940) Van Lierde made several reconnaissance flights; after the capitulation he fled to England via France and Spain. He was arrested at the French-Spanish border. He stayed in the state prison of Miranda de Ebro from 1940 to 1941, but he was able to escape (1941). In England he followed additional training with the Royal Air Force.

In his battles in the Battle of Britain, he shot down 7 German planes and 37 flying bombs; with his fighter-bomber he damaged 6 boats, 9 locomotives and 250 vehicles. He was honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Returned to the Belgian Air Force in 1946, Van Lierde was appointed Major. He was temporary commander of the Bevekom Air Base. Afterwards he was on duty in the Belgian Congo. In 1958 he was among the first Belgian pilots to fly through the sound barrier. In 1968 he left active service with the rank of colonel.
Van Lierde died in 1990. In 2011, a memorial monument to him was erected in Overboelare. The Majoor Van Lierdebrug in Overboelaere, a bridge over the Dender, is named after him.
