The Lessen quarry currently consists of two extraction zones; «Fosse Nord» and «Fosse Sud». In the first zone there are up to 8 floors ranging from 15 to 30 meters in height for each floor. The mining reserve is estimated at ten years of production. By contrast, the reserves of the "Fosse Sud" are estimated at 140 million tons! The porphyry quarried in Lessines has the following intrinsic properties: LA between 9 and 12, MICRO DEVAL between 4 and 8 and a PSV ranging from 53 to 58 which are optimal properties for application areas such as motorways and high speed trains. Lessen's annual production is 1,800,000 tons / year and reserves are estimated at more than 140 million tons.
