The first, probably one-storey school building, was built in the school association with Wölm. Despite the extension from 1880, the school building soon proved to be too small.
In the years 1907/08, a new school building with a spacious teacher's apartment was built next to the pond in Gehai. 133 years of school history came to an end when the one-class elementary school was closed in 1969. The Engelhardsberg students now attend primary school in Muggendorf and then schools in Ebermannstadt.
