Cycling
The windmill in Damm, standing on an artificial hill several meters high, is considered the most easterly windmill on the Lower Rhine. Its founding was often dated to the year 1880 under a miller Wilhelm Holtmann or, in deviation therefrom, to 1830 - this was recently corrected through targeted local history research in files of the Schermbeck community archive to a period between 1863 and 1867 (see the following section “Stone Witnesses to the Schermbeck History”).
