The Buchhorn Fountain is one of the younger landmarks in Friedrichshafen. It is located in the heart of the old town - on Adenauerplatz directly in front of the town hall. The fountain was designed and built by the sculptor couple Barbara and Gernot Rumpf. It was inaugurated in 2001 and has been very popular with children since then.

The Buchhorn Fountain embodies an imaginative interplay of past and present, history and mythology, reference to home and cosmopolitanism as well as art and technology. In the center of the fountain basin there is a stylized tree, a beech, with large leaf shapes made of arched stainless steel sheet, which are lightly arranged on top of each other. The abstract shape is reminiscent of both the tree itself and its fruit, the beechnuts. Together with the horn lying at an angle in the fountain basin, the word "Buchhorn" results, the original name of the city of Friedrichshafen. Other figures testify to the industrial development of the city.
