The wooden structure of the Styrumer Dammweg bridge had been severely damaged by the weather. In addition, the railings of the bridge were repeatedly destroyed by vandalism. In order to be able to use the bridge for the Ruhrtalradweg in the long term, a complete renovation was carried out from November 26, 2018, in which wooden components were replaced by steel components. Now the construction work "Renovation of the Styrumer Dammweg bridge" has been completed.
