The Kahlenberg weir is preserved except for occasional restoration work in its original form, 1962 was subsequently built the pedestrian bridge, which allows the crossing today.
This was necessary because the popular, short walk to the Saarner floodplains was blocked by the former pedestrian bridge, the so-called "Saarner bowling alley", which was destroyed in the Second World War.
