The Hohenzollernhaus was opened as a hotel after its completion in 1906 and was already closed again in 1912. The atlas that carries a globe on the front gable is no longer original. Desert wind and salt air had decomposed the figure.

This is a monument and symbol of the city of Swakopmund. The building was initially designed to be used as a hotel. For a long time, the “Hohenzollern Hotel” was suspected of running a secret brothel, but there was never any concrete evidence of this. (Wikipedia)
