The Old Barracks is a historic fortification in Swakopmund. It is part of Namibia's national heritage and is also featured on the coat of arms of the city of Swakopmund.
It was built from 1905 to 1906 to house the workers of the 2nd Imperial Railway Construction Company. They also built the Jetty. Subsequently, soldiers of the Schutztruppe were housed here. The building served as a school until 1993 and since then as a youth hostel.
