The village of Langebrück was first mentioned in a document in 1288. Until the middle of the 19th century, only farmers and cottagers lived in Langebrück. After 1862, construction began on new districts on both sides of the railway line from Dresden to Radeberg, which was inaugurated in 1845. During the founding period, elaborate villas and country houses were built in Oberdorf, which attracted numerous summer guests from Dresden. Above all, artists, writers, doctors and scientists were drawn to Langebrück. At times Langebrück, which has belonged to Dresden since 1999, even carried the title of a spa.
