The Markthalle is an Art Nouveau building in the center of Stuttgart, located between Breuninger and Markt, Schiller and Karlsplatz. It was built between 1911 and 1914. At the beginning of the 70s it was planned to demolish it. Thanks to fierce resistance, it has been a listed building since 1974. Luckily. The exterior of the hall is decorated with reliefs and frescoes, with lizard figures above the two main portals. In the hall beautiful stalls with Swabian and international specialties, in the upper price segment.
