In 1985, the tower was restored with the help of donations from Stuttgart citizens, the city of Stuttgart and the State Monuments Office of Baden-Württemberg.
The terrace with the viewing tower is about 500 m north of the Katharinenhospital on Eduard-Pfeiffer-Straße. The tower itself is only open on special occasions.
The Kriegsberg Tower was named "Monument of the Month January 2019" by the Baden-Württemberg Monument Foundation.
