It is believed that the stone church was built by Cistercian monks from the Lehnun monastery before 1350 and that it had a wooden tower. After the Second World War, the church bell from 1732 can be found again, which escaped being melted down at the end of the war.

Originally rectangular field stone church from the 2nd half of the 13th century, rebuilt several times. Reopened after war damage in 1954. Historical buildings can still be found on the field stone walls below the tower, on the ogival gate of the western front and on one side of the nave
