The Lampertstal is a side valley of the Ahr valley. Here you can enjoy wonderful hikes through the juniper heaths of the Eifel. The lovely valley is a botanical treasure chest. Plants grow here, many of which are threatened with extinction. With spring comes the blaze of color. The first harbinger is the dark blue-violet pasque flower, which appears thousands of times as early as March. It is soon followed by yolk yellow cowslips, glowing vetch, anemones and numerous types of orchids. At the beginning of September, the pink-violet flowers of the autumn crocus and gentians in strong blue or pale pink can be seen. Of course, this sea of flowers is also an Eldorado for insects, which include many rare species of butterflies. For example, when cowslips are in bloom, cowslip butterflies flutter across the meadow. Many species of birds can be discovered in the dense green of the slopes. Tits, nuthatches, woodpeckers and bullfinches build their nests between beeches, oaks, firs, sloe bushes, gooseberries and currant bushes. And with a bit of luck you can see a lizard or a slow worm sunbathing on rocks and stones.
