Poechenelles are old puppets used to play theater performances in the basement of this café, which is still accessible today. The dolls that hang on the walls today only come to life once the café guests have turned their backs. The Poechenellekelder is no more than a car width from Manneken Pis, but manager Michel De Triest still resists the temptation to turn it into a purely tourist affair, although you pay a bit more expensive here than further on in the city.
